Empathy and emotional intelligence have become the cornerstone of being an effective leader. In Western society, we pride ourselves on being unique with our individualism, however, over time we can come to think in particular ways, forming deep ruts and grooves or neurological pathways in our brains. The more we think in a particular way, the deeper the ruts and grooves we create in our brains, forming mental models. If we unconsciously continue in the same thought patterns, these grooves begin to reinforce the same behavioral patterns, which over time may be ineffective or get in our way.
As leadership is no longer defined as solely IQ or even technical skills, emotional intelligence becomes a critical part of becoming a well-rounded leader, regardless of industry, level, or field of work. And yet, emotional intelligence is only one aspect of many forms of intelligence that exist, including logical, mathematical, spatial/visual, kinesthetic, linguistic, spiritual, somatic, etc. Leaders that seek development in multiple forms of intelligence can only benefit from their ability to rise up to the marketplace complexity and unprecedented change.
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE INTENSIVE OVERVIEW
The 3x3 Emotional Intelligence Intensive, a critical aspect of conscious leadership provides participants the opportunity to explore the five dimensions of emotional and social skills with self-perception (inward), self-expression (outward), interpersonal (developing and maintaining relationships), using emotional information to make decisions, and stress management and coping strategies. Throughout the three-month highly interactive intensive, participants will use the data insights from the EQ-i 2.0 assessment to build a developmental focus plan and through coaching and monthly topical learning sessions, gain a deeper insight into their behavioral patterns and build effective leadership strategies.
